 Let the gift swapping begin…with a Deal or Steal Gift Swap. To participate in the fun, you must bring a wrapped, unmarked gift to exchange…. something you would want to receive – a nice plant, beautiful garden pot, baked goods, Christmas ornament, garden tools, artwork, or something silly or quirky we can fight over…  Be creative. Suggested $10 to $20 value.

You’ll have a few opportunities to win beautiful Vera Bradley bags stuffed with goodies and holiday floral centerpieces at no cost. Pick up your lucky raffle and gift exchange tickets when you arrive.

 Payment of $25 is expected when you sign up at either the October or November meetings.Please pay by check made out to: Allamanda Garden Club.

What’s a “Deal or Steal” gift exchange?

In a Deal or Steal gift exchange, each participant brings a wrapped, unmarked gift and places it in a designated area. Guests are given random numbers when they arrive.

The person who received the #1 ticket will pick a gift (that is not their own) from the pile and open it for all to see.

The person who has the #2 ticket then chooses a gift and opens it. They must decide whether to keep it or swap it for the first player’s gift. Thereafter, each person, in numerical order, selects a gift and decides whether to keep it or “steal” a gift someone has already chosen.

Swapping takes place until all the presents have been chosen. Finally, the person who held the #1 ticket gets to choose from all the gifts or keep what he/she has already received. In the end, the gift you’re holding is the gift you take home.

Why we wrap the gifts:

Because all the gifts are wrapped or in gift bags, the least desirable gifts are not left on the table for last – avoiding hard feelings. Wrapping the gifts also adds an element of surprise! Most of the fun happens as people “steal” gifts from each other! Watch as some gift items get stolen again and again!!
