SUMMARY:Field Trip
DESCRIPTION:Join us as we visit the Master Gardener’s Demo Garden in Port Charlotte. The Charlotte County Master Gardener Volunteer Demonstration Garden is a Florida-Friendly Landscaping site located at the Charlotte County Environmental Campus in Port Charlotte. It spans roughly one acre around a series of retention ponds\, connected by brick pathways and centered around a vine-covered pergola. Features labeled native plants\, butterfly and pollinator gardens\, palms\, ornamental trees\, succulents\, ground covers\, bromeliads\, and a tropical fruit garden. \nWe will carpool to the gardens –  leave from Shannon Staub Library at 8:30 am. The tour will run from 9:00 am to approximately 10:00 am. We can stay longer to take it all in and ask questions. \nKing‘s Roadhouse\, various items on the menu. Known for good burgers. 2200 Kings Hwy\, Unit 3 N\, Port Charlotte. DESCRIPTION:We’re joining All Around Bus Tours for a trip to the Sunken Gardens in St. Petersburg\, a botanical paradise in the midst of a bustling city. As St. Petersburg’s oldest living museum\, this 100-year-old garden is home to some of the oldest tropical plants in the region.  Unwind as you stroll through meandering paths\, lush with exotic plants from around the world. Explore cascading waterfalls\, beautiful demonstration gardens\, more than 50\,000 tropical plants\, and flowers.  After the Gardens enjoy an elegant lunch at Park Shore Grill and to “top” off your day the views from The Canopy (roof top) at the Birchwood Inn can’t be beat as you enjoy your dessert.\nTour INCLUDES : Bus transportation\, admission to the garden\, lunch and dessert on the roof top.\n$75 to be paid by designated date directly to the tour company.
