SUMMARY:Peace River Botanical and Sculpture Garden
DESCRIPTION:Christina Mayor\, Experience Specialist at Peace River Botanical & Sculpture Gardens\, will explore the importance of native pollinator plants and pollinator conservation. \nCristina leads programming\, outreach\, and educational initiatives. Her goal is to create meaningful\, engaging experiences that inspire curiosity and give our community opportunities to connect with nature\, art\, and lifelong learning. \nA native Floridian raised in Miami\, she has built her career within museums and nonprofit organizations\, focusing on visitor engagement and public education. After spending the past four years in Southwest Florida\, she has developed a deep appreciation for our region’s natural beauty and unique coastal ecosystems. She enjoys exploring local trails\, learning about conservation efforts\, and helping others discover meaningful connections to the natural world. With this passion\, she has managed my own personal collection of native and ornamental plants and adores a lovely day of gardening. \nChristina will also share information about The Punta Gorda Botanical Garden’s newest exhibit\, Elevate\, which opens on November 7th.

SUMMARY:Growing Earth-Kind Roses
DESCRIPTION:Earth-Kind® roses are cultivars that have demonstrated excellent heat and drought tolerance and a high degree of pest resistance. In addition\, they’re excellent landscape choices for Southwest Florida because they can tolerate a wide variety of soil conditions and require less fertilizer and water than other roses. \nDolly Tomalinas\, a Master Gardener from Charlotte County for over twenty years\, will discuss Earth-Kind rose selections\, planting\, diseases\, pest control\, and maintenance.
