Wear your floral outfits to enhance the festive atmosphere of the garden party! \nThe silent raffle promises to be an exciting and entertaining event. DESCRIPTION:Carol Lazzeri & Frank Casey \nCocktails in the Garden will be hosted by Carol Lazzeri & Frank Casey\, 4131 Cuthbert Avenue\, North Port on Tuesday\, April 2nd  from 5:30 to 7:30.  Members are invited and spouses are encouraged to attend. \nTheir gardens consist of border plantings and an “island” garden as well as two vegetable gardens.  Lots of variety!!! \nThey would love to have you join them. \n \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \nWhat’s Cocktails in the Garden? \n“Cocktails in the Garden” is held in a member’s garden from 5:30 to 7:30 PM. It is for members only and spouses are encouraged to attend. The host provides beverages – wine\, water\, soda and iced tea or lemonade. Four or five members co-host by providing ready-to-eat finger foods that don’t require refrigeration or heating. After members gather\, get a beverage and a tidbit to eat\, we have “the tour” – we walk around the yard while the host talks about their garden\, plants\, success\, failures and plans for the future. It’s an opportunity to get ideas and advice. It’s also a great way to have fun and get to know each other better. Please bring a chair.

SUMMARY:COCKTAILS IN THE GARDEN
DESCRIPTION:Mary Jo and Jerry Davis will host our spring Cocktails in the Garden at their lovely home and garden\, 3390 Nansen Ave.\, North Port.\nOur garden has two areas that we especially enjoy\, the pond and the shade garden. The pond has waterfalls and a stream with two small stone bridges. Growing in and around the edges are Waterlilies\, Cattail\, Taro\, Pickerel\, Canna and Iris. Around the pond we have Hong Kong Orchid Tree\, Sabal and Queen Palms\, Oleander\, Jatropha\, Gardenia\, Plumbago\, Bougainvillea\, Snowbush\, Beautyberry\, Crown of Thorns\, Bird of Paradise\, Blue Daze\, Penta\, Milkweed\, Geranium\, African Iris and some really ugly Flax Lily. The paths in our shade garden meander under a canopy of Oak and Sabal Palms. Some of the plants growing beneath are Beautyberry\, Fire Spike\, Fire Bush\, Arboricola\, Dracaena\, Porterweed\, Walking Iris\, Orchids\, Turk’s Cap\, Starburst and several varieties of Crotons\, Bromeliads\, Philodendron and Fern. There’s also a volunteer Sago Palm and a volunteer Crinum Lily!\n\n

DESCRIPTION:Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday\, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season\, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. It is sponsored locally by KDW Radioin North Port\, one of the few campaign locations in the state of Florida.\nMoney donated to the Allamanda Garden Club will be used directly for our charitable giving. We make annual charitable donations to Backpack Angels\, Friends of Little Salt Spring\, People for Trees and area food banks. We donate books to local schools and provides financial support to school gardens. Annual scholarships are awarded to college students pursuing degrees in agricultural\, botanical or horticultural areas.
