SUMMARY:Wreath Workshop
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be making live wreaths for Christmas.\n \n\n\nIf you can\, please bring:  any evergreens\, like yew\, boxwood\, cedar\, pine\, etc. (2′-3′ long); branches with berries\, like holly berries (colorful\, red or yellow berries 1′-3′ long); pods; eucalyptus; magnolia leaves\, pine cones\, dried whole oranges or slices\, anything you may have that is suitable for the wreaths.  Please bring enough to share.  NO BRAZILIAN PEPPER BERRIES.  If you wish\, you can bring Christmas balls\, ribbons\, bows or other decorations for your wreath.  No artificial plant material. \n\n\nAlso bring:  Scissors\, small wire cutters\, and pruning shears.\n\nWe’ll supply the grapevine wreaths\, wire\, facility\, teacher and refreshments.\n\nREGISTER with Emily Panek at 941-786-1541 or email:  msemilypanek@comcast.net  no later than November 16.  Check for $20.00 made out to THE ALLAMANDA GARDEN CLUB is required to guarantee your space.  Mail to Emily Panek\, at 13061 Steinhatchee Loop\, Venice\, FL 34293 by November 19th or you will be automatically cancelled.  Non-members pay an additional $5.  Limit is 29 participants.\n\nTHIS IS MEANT TO BE A FUN EVENT FOR OUR MEMBERS.  A TIME TO RELAX AND BE CREATIVE WHILE INTERACTING AND ENJOYING OURSELVES.\nClick on this link to see photos for inspiration.  \nIdeas for Wreath Workshop Dec 3 \nEvent will be held outside at the Grand Palm Social Club\, 1315 Observation Blvd.\, Venice \n

Guests are given random numbers when they arrive. \nThe person who received the #1 ticket will pick a gift (that is not their own) from the pile and open it for all to see. \nThe person who has the #2 ticket then chooses a gift and opens it. They must decide whether to keep it or swap it for the first player’s gift. Thereafter\, each person\, in numerical order\, selects a gift and decides whether to keep it or “steal” a gift someone has already chosen. \nSwapping takes place until all the presents have been chosen. Finally\, the person who held the #1 ticket gets to choose from all the gifts or keep what he/she has already received. In the end\, the gift you’re holding is the gift you take home. \n  \nWhy we wrap the gifts: \nBecause all the gifts are wrapped or in gift bags\, the least desirable gifts are not left on the table for last – avoiding hard feelings. Wrapping the gifts also adds an element of surprise! Most of the fun happens as people “steal” gifts from each other! Watch as some gift items get stolen again and again!! \n  \n
