DESCRIPTION:If you grew a vegetable garden “up north\,” you may have to rethink your strategy in Florida. \nPhil Sollecito will speak about growing a successful\, mostly organic vegetable garden in the hot\, humid and sometimes frosty south. \n \nHe will share his experiences with vegetable varieties\, timing your plantings\, soil preparation\, bugs\, diseases and more. \nPhil has a degree in Fishery Biology (his other passion is fishing!). He’s been vegetable gardening for eight years in North Port and over 40 years “up north.”  Come hear how he met the challenges of gardening in Florida.  \n \nYou’ll be able to see all the fabulous gardens at his home when he and Wendy host a Cocktails in the Garden on November 3rd.  \n
